Francoise Nielly's electric paintings are shaped by the synergy of movement and evolution, and the flickering edge between public and private. With haunting juxtapositions of light and dark, and layers of powerfully vibrant, surreal color, Nielly relishes extremes: contrasts in race, lifestyle, and personality. She is continually inspired by observing different types of people thriving together.
“Francoise Nielly is a passionate woman who loves life, wide open spaces…blue lagoons, the internet, humor, books, Paris, New York, and Vancouver.” - Excerpt from Francoise Nielly’s Biography. Born and raised in France, Francoise Nielly has become renowned throughout the international art scene for her stunningly expressionist (yet uncannily accurate) portraits. Her arresting palette and audacious style have invigorated other fields of design as well. In 2007, Nielly collaborated with the with French cosmetics manufacturer, Givenchy, to launch the Arty Color collection. Nicolas Degennes, Givenchy’s Artist Director of Make-up developed a line of cosmetics with bold hues that simulated those of Nielly's graffiti art. She also designed Lipstick, a Women’s Snowboard Collection for Burton Snowboards in 2010. Most recently, Nielly partnered with the international auto manufacture, Citroën to design a painting used to launch the Citroën Survolt Concept Car unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 2010.
